the blue zebra novice ride

The day started off with Devon rich, meeting me at my house with his very clean ttr on the trailer.

We got suited and booted and headed off down to the hideaway cafe for a nice fry up to start the day.

Fed nd watered we headed to Brixton garage to meet up with the rest. When we got there I thought most of Plymouth had turned up as there was around 20 bikes, luckily Arry h was taking a smaller group ahead of us.

So the novice ride had me, Charlie(slider rider),mark270,jon p(crazy frog) Lawrence, Devon rich, Steve and Becky p(on the 79dt175)Simon, Ian, Shaun, Paul h.

We started off nice and easy at 202-217, where Becky had a run in with a hedge.

Charlie then headed on to 202-225 and 202-225 to video the puddle mayhem. But it had almost dried up.

202-218,202-915,202-916,202-209 then 202-232 and 234 went without incident.

After a brief stop we set off again to 202-236,237 and 238, thought i would take them up

202-243 as it has become very rocky and technical In the last year, all got up incident free.

202-240 then 202-297 jon(aka crazy frog) got cross rutted and ended up facing the wrong way in the lane as everyone passed him and laughed, then down 202-250 and into Kingsbridge for a quick fuel/drink stop, where we bumped into arry h and his group heading the other way and a loan ktm rider that had sprung a water leak and was waiting for recovery.

Quick stop over it was off up 202-300, 307,258,259,261,264,308 then a little road work to 274,276,291 and 290.

we took the longer route up the beach to get to 202-289(im sure the house owners appreciate it),then up 202-283 which can be horrible when wet, then down 202-283 before heading off to East Charlton petrol station for lunch.

After the troops were fed and watered we headed out to 202-265,254 then up to 3 of my faivorite lanes

202-252,247 and 248 then back down again to 202-303. We thatn headed of for a little bit of road work via 202-246, on to 202-227 where we came across a few horses.

As our novice riders had coped with everything so far i thought a trip up 202-212,205  again has to be one of my top 10 lanes.

Then on it was 202-204, quick stop at wheeldon to test out the dt175 wheelie capabilities, then on to

202-174,173,180 and down 171 where Lawrence got caught by simon and got a bit of a bath.

We then headed down 202-179 and i gave everyone the option of going down 202-306 and back up again and everyone said we will give it a go, i was the only one that got hurt coming back up after making a poor decision on which route to take. Everyone else made it up(with a little help from Charlie)

After saying our fair wells to simon and Lawrence we set off to do 202-196,195 194 and finishing at 193.

All in all a great day with great people and a full mixture of bikes.

A total of 51 lanes and around 70 miles.

I would like to thank everyone that turned up to make another great day riding round the lanes.

Cheers

Dave.
