Looking for a guide

Evening all myself a a couple of mates are looking for someone to show us around some of your lanes again.

I say again as one of your members was good enough to show us around a year or so back only cant remember his name.

Were all middle aged sensible riders and in return more than willing to show a bunch of you around the welsh valleys some time.

or a south hams run which is about 40/50 lanes including devils steps, normal start time is 9am from numerous places.

Hi Minty,

I regularly ride with Dave so there's a good chance you'll bump into me on your visit, I've got some cracking all day routes as well, if fancied making a couple of days out of it, I can cater for all, lol, I can lead a moorland run around Dartmoor, a run with the occasional challenge or a run full of challenges.

What sort of tank range and bikes will you guys be ridding ?

Cheers, Justin.

Usually ride a wr 450 as my main bike but its going to be a couple of weeks before its back in one peace. I also have a xr650

The others are a mix of 300 and 450 ktm,s

~Some of the lanes we done last time

Tank ranges i guess all will do around 60 miles to a tank depends on the type of ridding.

Normal day ridding between say 10 to 5 we,d fill up half way through the day.

Weekend would be good but some of the guys may get home sick biggrin we,d probably come down the night before and stop in a b&b

That's ideal Minty, usual distance and fuel stops.

I also recognise most if not all of those lanes, I'll have a chat with Dave and I feel certain between the pair of us we'll sort out a cracking ride for you all.

Cheers, Justin.

That could be handy. How far from Plymouth would we be meeting up/starting from?

Going to be cheeky now but 2 more guys have asked if there's room? I said i,d ask but not promising anything don't want you guys to feel like you have to put up with us  biggrin

Hi Minty,

No probs on the extra two, however as Dave said that will have to be the max I'm affraid, by the time you count Dave, myself and one or two from our regulars we will be right on the limit of a comfortable group to lead.

What sort of area around Newton Abbot will you guy's be visiting ?, we were thinking of taking you from Plymouth through the southams to Stokeinteignhead which is very close to Newton Abbot, its not a problem if your laning around there on the Saturday we'll change our direction to avoid you ridding the same lanes twice.

Cheers, Justin.

a good mix of everything, some very rocky climbs, and very tight brambly lanes, the xr650 will be a bit of a handfull on some of it. not to many boggy bits.

I could bring a yz 250 (registered) but im not sure how far it would go on a tank. Couple of the lads bringing there bikes down on a trailer 2 or 3 of them. Any idea where the could stick them safe over right?

I bet your starting to regret agring to this now biggrin

The 250 should be fine, the route we've got planned is approx 100 mile round trip and we'll be stopping twice for fuel.

As for bike storage, I'll let Dave cover that one, lol, I'm pretty sure he'll have an idea or two.

Just a quick one, I've just been on the Cornwall site and a group of them are heading up the same way as us on the same day so the lanes could get a bit busy, should be fun.

I've booked the weather for Sunday so we will be good, went for a bit of a bit of a run out on the route we are doing yesterday, and I would suggest waterproof feet, there are some large puddles out there ATM.
Looking forward to Sunday I will be fun.
