The aim was to meet at Brixton for 09:00 however the organisation for the half marathon almost delayed us as it seemed like most of the roads around Plymouth had been closed from traffic, despite this hold up, 09:00 it was and eight of us were at Brixton waiting on one more who could'nt join us as his bike didn't fancy it and refused to start.

The weather was wet and the lanes were damp, there was a real selection of tyres throughout the group, I was sporting a brand new Mitas C02 rear and brand new MT21 front, David had a new rear tyre (Michelin I think) and the rest of the group had everything from MT43's to an Army Special.

We set off and before long we were on our first lane of the day 202-217, it was like a sheet of ice, I remember getting about half way up before wishing I had my old worn out tyres on, anyway as it turned out everyone struggled for grip including the MT43's.

We then went on to 202-230, 231, 224, everything was going fine until 202-225 where I chose the wrong rut and dragged an entire hawthorn bush down the lane, so a couple of minutes to clear the debris from my chain and sprocket and we were off again, although I had a feeling this would come back to haunt me later.

We did 202-208 and as a group decision we had a look at the river crossing on 202-192, James was the first to attempt and made it look very easy although the water line was somewhere between the top of the tyre and the mudguard, Chris was next and stalled his bike in the deep section and pushed his bike out, David was up next and was making good progress until the engine cut off switch on the side stand of his trusty CRM shut off the engine, the rest of us then decided to play it safe an use the near by bridge.

Once on the other side all bike now running, just about to leave when I noticed my front tyre had gone down (hmmm, wonder which lane I picked that up from), couple of minutes to chuck in some slim, pumped up with a CO2 capsule and Bobs your uncle, its game on !!

We then did 202-193, 194, 195, 196, 209, apparently Charlie had a moment on 202-210 but managed to keep his composure.

We continued to 202-222, 221, 236, 238, 223, I believe it was on 202-212 Steve had a big moment and parked his bike vertically up the bank.

We then did 202-205 & 202-204 before stopping for fuel and a well earned bite to eat.

After lunch we did 202-198, 176 where one of the residents stepped out in front of a member of the group in order to show her dissatisfaction of us being there, 149, 148, 147 was good fun with Chris getting stuck on the slate surface and Bonny literally throwing herself up the hill (hopefully the video came out ok).

We contiued on to 202-141, 142, 131, 130 was carnage and pushed poor Charlie's tec skill's to the limit's, Steve managed to break the sub frame under his seat and had to call it a day, so now we were down to the lucky number Seven.

So it was on to 202-095, 086 was loads of fun, plenty of badgers, I got a pat on the back (and head, arm, leg ect.) thanks to Chris trying to keep himself moving up through the field.

We continued on to 202-085, 084, back up 085, said are good bye's to Jon as he had meal to get ready for, so now we were down to the last Six, we did 202-122 and finished off with 202-154.

All in all despite the wet weather and flying pat's everyone had a brilliant day, totally exhausted at the end and went home with big smiles, soaked through & Stinking.
