Winter equipment , please suggest items !

Ok so being a novice to this and starting in June I have all the summer gear sorted , but it seems to me after this weekends trip that it's getting alot colder and I think I may need better trousers for the winter months , the top half not so bad as already have water proof jacket with armour and a norweign top for extreme cold lol ! May need gloves as well as the summer ones I am using have no warmth at all but I still like to feel the bike through my gloves so not to thick ! Any suggestions would be great as I feel the need to spend the wife's money lmao ! Cheers

You Gump

A number of us use these trousers and find them real good - and for their price they last a good while (had mine over 2 years with lots of winter riding/falling). They come with armour in, but I take this out and still use my knee pad. They're breathable as well.

There's a variety of colours as well - I like the white camo ones, but others prefer these darker ones.

Alpinestar Chill gloves get a mixed reaction on DTRF, but I've used them for years and they are excellent (many folk I ride with have bought them after me as they saw how toasty my paws were when theirs were fit to drop off). Not the best when it gets real wet too - but you can't have it all.

And Kev's right about sealskinz socks too - expensive but well worth the dosh - and last forever.

Cheers

Mark

I have the trousers Wheely details and they are perfect - REALLY tough material for all the brambles, warm and most importantly keep you dry!!!

I don't have AStars Chill Gloves (yet! - Crimbo's comingwink) but they do get rave reviews. Try surgeons type rubber gloves under any gloves you wear if it's wet weather to help keep your hands warm. If it's good enough for Rossi it's good enough for me! wink

I have waterproof sox but rather then the expensive SealSkinz option I went to the army surplus store ('Goulds' in Plymouth) and got a pair for £10, bargain! Do the job perfectly and have lasted over a year so far (and that's with washing after every wet or dry ride!)

Sinisalo jacket- 5 years old and going strong- RFX trousers- tops sofar but not tested in monsoon weather.

Had alpinstars trousers before but the waist is too low (couldnt keep em up).
