Closed lane !
Hi I went out this evening and did some lanes - 201-070 all the way through to 201-045! I did however encounter a closed off lane 201-049 south end ! It seems as though some 1 has chicken wired the gate and the placed barb wire over it . I was wondering if anyone knew about this / or has this been removed as a right of way ? Please let me know thank you !

Hi Gump, I have checked my Memory Map and this lane looks OK so the blockage could be illegal. You can report a problem and query the legality on the Cornwall Council web site https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=24811
Was the gate actually tied up and unopenably? I recall the gate being on it's last legs for some time, I'd be suprised if any malice was intended as it's a well used lane by all user groups. I will endeavour to pass by and if I can do anything with it I will. If it's clearly an attempt to prevent passage it should be reported to the Council, district and county.
We discussed this at the meeting. I think the farmer had put a temporary fence up to stop the animals disappearing down the track whilst moving them. I have come across this before, luckily the farmer was there he was a very pleasant, cheerful chap and kindly removed it and let us pass with no problems.
