Changing a wheel bearing

Hi Peeps I seem to have a little bit of play and i mean a little amount in the rear wheel bearing on my wr 250f.

So I have decided to replace it sooner rather then later. I havent done this before so any guidence would be greatfully recieved!

Is this a relatively simple job? is there special tools needed?

I do have spanners/socket set/screwdrivers and pliers etc. oh and a big tub off greese.

cheers steve.

Think that guide you've been given on the other forum is great and should meet your requirements.

Also make sure the grease you have is a good waterproof grease (all greases repel water but not all are waterproof).

For the front only : If you buy a kit for the WR it will come with 2 identical size oil seals, but you'll only need one as the other is built into the speedo drive meachanism (and you never get a seal for this).

Clean/grease the wheel spindle also before refitting. And (for front only) make sure the spindle clamp screws at the nut end of the spindle are the last things to be tightened!!!

And finally, on the WR rear wheel one bearing is held in by a circlip behind the oil seal. The other bearing is pressed fit only and not retained by a circlip. Circlip can be hard to see depending on the amount of cack/crap around it.
