Another Novice

Hi all,

I have been wanting to have a go at laneing for a while now, I finally persuaded the missus to let me buy another bike, now I'm looking for a friendly bunch to introduce me to laneing and to show me the ropes.

I signed up with the TRF today (Devon group), so I should receive my card and sticker soon.

I'm an experienced and sensible rider on the hard stuff, not that its going to help me much on the lanes.

As far as equipment goes I really dont know what to get or where to start looking, I don't really want to spend a fortune to start with, just in case I'm a natural flop.

I live in Plymouth, the bike I bought is a "97" KLX 250 and is road legal, I would love the opportunity to go on a couple of rideouts, I'm always up for a challenge but please remember that I will be completely new to laneing.

Many thanks, Justin.

Hey Gripper and welcome to TVTR,TRF and laning.

There's many a run in our area, I do them on a lot of weekends leaving from mine at Plympton and there's often other runs advertised on here that generally start from Saltash, Roborough or Tavistock.

There will always be someone willing to take a novice out - and to be honest you can probably join most rides as we often have 'ride-arounds' to miss the more challenging of lanes.

Hope to see you out soon (my rides are advertised here and on dtrf site)

Mark
