15psi front, 10 psi back , is in mine all the time, off road or on, if you are intending to do both in the same day(off road means legal byways/unmetalled roads off course)
13-14psi front and 10psi rear in mine. Rear is an MT43 and front is a Maxxis.
You need reasonable pressure in the front to avoid pinch punctures from hard edge impacts and reasonably soft at the rear to give maximum grip.
Running low pressures for a long time on the road (at higher speed)does warm them up a bit but I cant say it has caused me any problems so far.
Some knobblies have harder carcasses than the MT43 and flex less so might feel harder than a trail tyre.
Dont forget that if you are running low pressures make sure that you have good rim locks in place or the tyre will spin and tear out the tube valve.
Most riders dont tighten the tube valve stem nut but prefer to leave it loose.(screwed up against the valve cap) This will allow a little movement and help to prevent tearing.
