Big G's 'Come One, Come All' Rideout - Sunday 17th Oct 2010

Well, after the club meet on the Thursday where Big G announced he would lead a ride Sunday there didn't seem that many takers (probably something to do with the 8am start!!!).
I wasn't planning to go until I changed my mind late Sat night as the thought of not getting out on the bike over the weekend really didn't sit well with me (a terrible week at work and I needed to release some (more) tension ............ despite having played rugby Sat afternoon and unleased some on the opposition!!!)

So, up at 06:50am (Cricky!) and in the garage with a cup of Tea by 7am donning all my gear. It was bloomin' cold I can tell you. The weather report gave a sunny day so I decided to don my summer MX gear but riding down the Parkway to Saltash sevices I was flippin' glad I'd decided to put my waterproof top over my MX jersey. Me nuts were a tad frozen though by the time I got there I can tell you!! I quick blast on the hand dryer in the toilets brought my hands back to life!!!

I was the 1st one there at 07:50 wondering who else might turn up ............ who else would be as crazy as me???? Well, the title of the thread indicates how many other mad people there are around!!! Well, first there was Nic and Dave(?) and their mate all on KTM's. Then their other mate on a WR, then newbies Ian and Lee who'd been at the meet for the 1st time Thur. Then Big G and son Sam, then Bonnie arrived, then Dan(?) on a KTM and finally Mike and Chris M, 13 of us in all. I think Gerrald was a tad overwhelmed!?!?
We had a cracking day's ride and covered some good ground with some lovely lanes (this is only the 2nd time I've been down round this way!). Big G did a fantastic job navigating all day without the hint of a map!!! Amazing!

Here's a few vids of out escapades. NB: Fortunately Dan(?) - KTM 450 '02 reg - managed to escape me videoing his off on one particular lane towards the end of the day as the camera battery decided to die at that point! Why does that always happen? Wheely had a similar escape the other week on Devils Steps. Oh well, a great day was had by all. See you all again soon.

Top Videos Geoff. A stirling job.

I do enjoy watching them- a great reminder of a smashing day out.  Were going to need some practice on Morden- going to clean it one day-

Thanks for the Vids- much appreciated

Mike

Geof

Great Videos of a good day out next time we go to Pink Panther??

I have three Garmin Quest's not fixed one to the bike yet, but having played around this area so much can remember most of the Lanes, hence no map required?
We also detoured the bigger loop due to time restraint around Lerryn, Pelynt, Lostwithel Looe area lots more lanes.
But Iam not so confident on South Hams area which I must go and do again soon.

Thanks for the company

Big G

Great video's Geoff, glad to hear you enjoyed yourselves in S E Cornwall, we also had a good day, we did over 50 lanes and over 100 mile. Yeah and it was a cold start, I think we all got frost bite on the way over; but soon warmed up in the lanes.
