On the 16th September at 0800hrs I found myself meeting up with Timpo in a small village in North Wales. This was something that on the off chance i had mentioned to Timpo when he was down in Devon the previous month and for once, amazingly, all the peices fell into place. We met at a lovely little pub wheer the landlord John made us a coffee before Al from Manchester TRF group arrived to finish the group.
We set off at around 0900hrs for a days ride. The lanes in Wales are a generally a whole lot longer and lot less undergrowth than what we have here in Devon so to ride unhindered by rampant bushes is a nice experience. We soon found ourselves on part of a very old road that Timpo had recently discovered and opened up, very green and lined with trees. When we arrived at the lower end we encountered the farmer who was not al all pleased to see three bikes coming through his yard. He informed us we were not welcome and that we were trespassing, wich of course we weren't and he knew it.
The scenery throughout the day was fantastic and a took a few pictures which I have attached.
We arrived back at the pub at around 1700hrs after a fantastic day's riding.
A big thanks to Timpo for guiding me round for the day and pointing out the points of interest.
For all of you arranging rides up that way it is most definately worth the effort.
Great stuff Chris, looks and sounds like you had a great time.
For those of you not at the last TVTR meeting, we have an invitation from Timpo to visit his area and be led on his trails. 6 is the maximum riders he'll take and the dates available are in November.
To get things moving we need someone to 'organise' things. Tim, where are you?
