RC8 going, going....

I've sold the RC8 and I'm delivering it today to the new owner. Loads of interest and I got my asking price so I'm happy. Now, the £ is rising against the $ as well as the Euro (the forum wouldn't allow the Euro sign there) so will bike prices be coming down again shortly?
Could you all please look at your crystal balls and tell me what you see. For those further adrift from civilisation and modern technology please check sheep/goat/chicken entrails for me.
I'd like another Adventure but I think the 990 SMT will win....or will a Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport tempt me?
I'm off on hols to France at the end of July on the Valkyrie so I may wait a month or two before making up my mind about another bike. That should knacker the CCM then if I haven't got a 'run around' to ride.

P.S. If you do look at your balls and find they're not crystal, please do not respond to this posting.

P.P.S. If they look a touch blue I'd suggest laying off the bike riding for a week or so. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Sorry to disagree but the 1150 and 1200 GS's are just armchairs with no adrenaline tap. I test rode a 1200GS the morning that I ordered my 950 Adventure 4 years ago. It would be a reasonable replacement for the Valkyrie but none of the BMWs have the soul of the 990 V twin KTM engine. This replacement is my toy and as such it has to excite me. The RC8 was good but too focussed on speed. I'd have the new Adventure but it's now £10500 and I bought mine 4 years ago for £8100. I'm probably going to wait but in the meantime I'll be test riding loads of bikes!

I haven't ridden a GS or Adventure so i can't really comment on how they ride but, i imagine the KTM would be more fun, it's got better suspension thats for sure!

You can test ride my Gas Gas on Saturday if you like Andy, it would be totally different to your CCM but i think you'd warm to it.

See you on Saturday smile

I Test rode the Triumph Adventure 2 years ago, it's finish is pathetic compared to a KTM. The pegs are too high 'cos of the width of the engine and it feels cramped like a 600 sports bike. The brakes were dangerous and Triumphs always look like they'll disolve when it rains. Also the suspension was weird.
The main problem is that KTM put such a high level of componentry on their bikes, as with the WP suspension, that riding other bikes becomes a chore rather than a pleasure. I reckon it'll be an SM-T as it'll just about fit in the shonky van to be able to take it to Scotland on hols.
Keep suggesting them folks...I test rode 23 bikes when I was thinking of getting a replacement for the 950 Adventure....see if you can find one I didn't road test?
Remember, I only need the bike as a toy and it must be able to 'light my fire'.
No Withybrook, I don't want a picture of a fire engine posted here!

Pyrene filled fire extinguishers are illegal....something to do with carcinogenic gas. I've got one of those in my downstairs toilet!

Methinks that you're properly tempted with the SMT.
Supposed to be the Puppy's Nuts but not ridden one mesent jus yet.
Seems to be the all rounder that you're looking for with the added benefit of being agile to the extreme.
Me, I'm after an XT 500!

Casting off again!
