TVTR Annual Bar-B-Que

As discussed at the meeting on Thursday night we have the opportunity to stage a Bar-B-Que at Miss Scarlett's, sister's, house.

Jane and Pat live on a hillside overlooking Castle Motors and the lane going to their house is fun in itself. See Ride Report - 3rd Jan '09.

The plan would be to do a run around Cornwall's lanes and end up with an evening Bar-B-Que near the summer solstice so 13th June seems favourite.

TVTR would fund the BBQ but then to replensh the funds we'd need to make a charge of approx £2 per head.

We would need to do the cooking etc and we'd need to purchase paper plates etc.

Would you....
1) be prepared to help with cooking/cleaning up/arranging said Bar-B-Que?
2) be able to attend the Bar-B-Que and/or ride out (I fancy a super large group ride round Cornwall's Eastern lanes)?

Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated...

That's why I picked that weekend so Patsy could turn up as well.

Would another weekend be better?

We'd need something big and 4x4 to drag her there kicking and screaming! ( No disrespect Bonny, that's just the way she is). Any other Saturday  and you can count me in for the ride and put me down for anything else that needs doing...providing I don't have to wash my handsbiggrinbiggrin. Bob

BTW, shouldn't it be 'FIRST Annual Barbeque'??confuseconfuse

Good idea Fixer, whatever date comes up best for the best number of attendees.

Put me down for any chore on your list, and wouldn't it be lovely to go out with 20 or so riders all wearing their special local chapter tee shirts, to strike fear in to the hearts of....................

Sorry Andy we're planning to go sailing about then if the weather is OK, so can't commit but would definitely be there if not.
Cheers,
Neil.

After a quick chat with Silver Fox, and seeing that there's very little enthusiasm for this event, how about a beach or pub Bar-B-Que later in the summer and one that all can come to including 'better halves' etc? This would mean everybody bringing what they wanted to eat/cook/burn and if it was at, or near, a friendly drinking house then that'd be the drink taken care of.

If you think this is a better idea please put your name down and suggest a date...
My preference would be for July - up to 18th,  August  between 7th and 23rd or Sept anytime.

how about the Eddistone Inn here at Heybrook Bay?

I think they have a large outdoor bbq..... but of course they probably would charge for food
do have a reasonably large car park
I can ask?

OR ... for a bring your own.... the canoe club used to have a bbq on a little beach off of the Mount Batten first car park, on the Sound side.....quiet and easy to get to, with a pub opposite
