The owners of the farm have been trying to claim since 2002 that part of the route through the farm is not a ucr. It was confirmed at a council rights of way committee meeting in March last year that it is a legal route. You can read the report HERE. I think they are just trying to discourage people from using it.
Hi Jim, is it worth getting the Land Registrty details as you did with Lake Farm, near Hollocombe? Do I go for the deeds or the plan or both?
Cheers
Hi Andy No it is probably not worth getting the land registry details for this one, it details what they say in the council report, It might be worth emailing a copy of the notice to the rights of way person at the council responsible for that area, Brian would know who that is.
If you download the .pdf version of the report from the link at the top of the page it includes a copy of the map.
Hope to get down for a ride soon(when I get my van back)
I would have liked to have seen what was included in the land registry information. However the .pdf file is HERE for those that might like to download it. As Jim says, it includes a map. Any intimidation should be reported to the Police and to the Public Rights of Way at Devon CC. Brian Sussex reckons that Mr Snow's deeds include part of the lane by mistake
"Land Registry
The route is excluded from landownership between A B and E F."
If you look at the map on the .pdf file (last page) you will see that the lane between B-C-D-E is the part in dispute. If you are riding through this lane then I suggest you also download the "Application for Judicial Revue - failed" letter HERE
