Saturday 4th April - 100 lane shakedown

I'm out of the loop until the 4th April.

There will be a run starting in Ivybridge and taking in the South Hams. This will be a shakedown for a 100 lane run in late April so if you want your badge and certificate then get you name down for this ride.

With regard to 150 lanes...NO. That would make it too much of a race. The fact that the first 4 Centurions did 170+ lanes was to stop record attempts. The 100 lane award is for good planning and good plan execution as well as team work on the ride. It is not a race and the concensus in the TVTR is that we leave it at 100 lanes.
If we do design a 150 laner it will be over 18 hours. As there are only 10 Centurions who know what it's like to ride almost non-stop I can't see many people volunteering. I think the first criterion for entering a 150 laner would be to be a Centurion????

Over to you

I think you're right Andy, break 'em in gentlybiggrinbiggrin. To be fair though, the non- centurions on the Coast to Coast recently (Mike, Simon and Barney) proved they had ample stamina for the 100, but the lane density wasn't right on this trip was it?

The C2C proved they could sit on a bike but I would expect all three of them to be able to do 100 lanes standing on their heads as they are all proficient riders. You know how exhausting it is riding a high density of lanes.
As you say, the C2C didn't have a high density of lanes as we only did 70 lanes between leaving Ivybridge and arriving at Jim's.
