Coast to coast.

Well, what an epic! Turns out its a bloody long way! 320 odd miles in 2 days is about enough for my arse. The KTM seat started to feel like a sharpened plank about lunchtime on Tuesday.
But despite that it was a brilliant trip. Next time we will refine the route slightly -  there just arent enough hours in the day to take in all we planned, so a few chunks had to be cut out here and there. And 2 punctures cost us a load of time on tuesday.
Big thanks to Jim for his luxurious B and B , spectacular breakfast and leading us round his local patch on Tuesday morning - thats the second time I've been there and the riding really is excellent. Thanks to Andy, and to everyone else for making it a thoroughly enjoyable 2 days. I look forward to the report and pictures!!!!

How right you are Tim- I had to bribe the Mrs into applying soothing balm to my nether regions when I got home biggrin. I think it may have been further than that though, it felt like it!!

Jim and Mrs Jim sure looked after us well and thanks to them for that. It was a tough ride, and not to be entered into lightly. I think we were fortunate with the group too, we all seemed determined not to be beaten- well done all, and thanks for suggesting it,helping to plan it and doing it.

Andy and Jim, thanks for leading, we wouldnt have made it without your expertise and knowledge. Bob

Well done Tim for coming up with the idea and getting it off the ground with help from Andy and any others. With those sort of miles we must be heros.Apolygies for not maintaining my bike properly and causing a hold up but made up the time on occasion with my magic foot.Special thanks to those in the tyre changing committee .wink.The trip really felt like a team effort.

Hi Mike, it was a puncture- bad luck, not lackof maintenance. Or did I miss something?

I was thinking about this after it happened - it really as bad luck - Mikes security bolt had lost its rubber coating - apparently been like that since he's had the bike. At some point it took an impact in exactly the right spot to cause the sharp edges to puncture the tube.

I think the tube was sucessfully changed in spite of the committee, not because of them!!!
