Well, well, well. Tim that was a fantastic report- I almost wish I'd been there . Of course everybody, when you get to the end of the report don't be fooled into thinking it's a doddle...for those who don't know it, both Tim and Mike are more than useful riders ( sorry Rom, I haven't met you). Well done fellas, I await the results with interest, and Kev Jones' result too 'cos he's also good. Bob.
Thank you for those kind words. As you rightly pointed out, its not an "easy" days riding. Theres a report on the DGTRF site from someone who really suffered with the pace and long hours in the saddle. Having said that, anyone who's been on one of Fixers epics should be more than capable of coping with the long day. Dont be too hopeful results wise. Launching myself at obstacles with limbs flailing is one thing , controlled pottering without putting your feet down is a different game altogether.
One thing I didnt put in the report, which I think Bob mentioned during the discussions previously, was there was an unusually high proprtion of riders who seemed to be treating the lanes as an open class enduro. Those who have ridden with us will know we are not "slow", but several times we had gaggles of riders on noisy bikes coming up behind us on the lanes. This is a phenomenon unique to this trial, I think. The 3 I have ridden previously did not have this sort of thing going on.( God I sound like an old f*rt!!!)
It seems that more than a few people came to grief on the icy roads!!!
The results came in the post this morning , but I only just got them. Out of 152 starters, me 70th, 17 points. Mike 100th, 22 points. Rom 127th, 30 points Kev 140th, 36 points
Just so you know how it works, there were 6 other riders with 17 points, I finished behind all of them as I had the slowest time on the Wheeldon speecial test.
Overall winner got a grand total of 5 penalties on the 12 sections! Well done to him.
Last man, in 152nd place, had a grand total of 47 penalties.
Sorry , Laserman, dont know your real name so I cant see where you finished.

Nice one, well done.
Amazingly, Andrew Savery was not the quickest round the indoor circuit. Only 3 riders did less than 40 seconds, he was second fastest with 37.41, beaten by 2 tenths of a second.
