Good oh, Kev. You would have lurrved The Cambrian, right up your street I reckon. I wouldn't be surprised if the biggest puddle of the lot was somewhere en-route on Saturday...perhaps the third lane we do?.
You're right Sonny, he's a visitor, lives in Cornwall. Haven't heard from him tonight, he's trying to arrange insurance on my Serow for the day. Andy reckons I should ride in front of him so he doesn't get the chance to rev the bristols off it ( he's 20 with some 600cc road rocket). Are you out on your rocket? Bob.
Myself and laughing boy, Phil, had a bit of a shake down ride today. My green machine thought it was an XR and kept cutting out and would only start again with much booting of the kickstart! Bloody pain. It is now hard wired into the electrics in the garage.
Going for another quick ride on Fri to see if its any better, If it's not i'll put a new battery in her. So if we don't kill ourselves on Fri we'll see you at Roughborough on Sat morning touch wood.!!
I will have to be back by 1230 so might have to bale early.(so will Phil as his dear old Mums babysitting the brood. And she doesn't even know it yet!!)
After a quick conflab with Sonny it would appear that his battery isn't charging so he's bringing it to my place on Thursday morning so I can check the connections and the alternator output! Fixer
I see Saturday's 'Sunny Intervals ' have been superceded by 'Light Showers'. Why do they bother with a 5 day forecast?. This isn't Alice Springs where you could make an accurate guess at the weather for months in advance. I'm wishing I hadn't bothered drying my boots now!.
Glad the Cambrian went well, I'll catch up on the occular front some other time.
Could I join you for a few lanes, starting at your house? I understand that if I am late, you will leave without me. Do. The 'few' means I'll have to get back to Plymouth before midday, sorry, but all will become clear. I'll confirm Friday.
If this is unfair on the numbers (as you are such a popular leader here by all accounts and bound to exceed the recommended) then count me out. No probs there.
How did you do at Weston? I did keep a lookout for you but didn't see you. Would have helped if i'd known your number but i was too tight to buy a programme. Hopefully see you on Saturday.
Weston was just another trail ride, and I couldn't find the fast button. The reverse side of the dunes was the interesting part of the whole proceedings, something you never get on a trail ride. The numbers were sanded out pretty much you would have had to recognise the style to spot me, because even my mechanic/spotter/goggles wiper had to as even the gay coloured pants and race shirt went sand coloured!!!
I had a really good ride today, 201-014 turned out to be a great lane, thanks Andy for leading, was nice to be out & about on the lanes and to see everyone again today
Good to catch up with everyone. sorry we had to bug out early but family commitements etc. A lift to and from the pub has been arranged for Wed. Get the Doombars in Jeff!!! Cheers for leading Andy. Hope to get out for a full run before too long. A big thanks to Sonny for helping save the ozone by not burning to much rubber on the exit from Lopwell.
Thanks for leading Andy, good ride and good to see some of the irregulars out too.We did around another 10 lanes after we split up, leaving Jeff at Pearce's Garage to go home and Bonny to jetwash her bike. If the big boys are already getting thirsty we'll need to whip through the official agenda in 5 minutes flat on Wednesday.
