The 4 TVTR Members who entered this event have returned safely. My thanks go to Big Jim, Silver Fox, and Captain Slow for their cameraderie on this voyage of discovery. None of us really knew what was in store for us during the event or at the Hostel which quite clearly stated on the YHA website, 'gas lit'!
I will be posting up a report and a few pictures to give all of you a taste of what a fabulous weekend we had but please bear with me as it will take me some time.
To summarise....it is an event all about speed off-road. Quite different from LDT's and normal green laning. Injuries = 1 (Silver Fox gashed his back putting my bike on the trailer). Damages - my CCM has a broken rear subframe. It broke towards the end of the last Special Stage when the silencer blew off the mid-pipe. I wouldn't stop in a timed stage as we were being slightly competitive (slightly?) and the resultant dangling about of the silencer was too much for the rear subframe which snapped about 1" from the end! It should be a reasonably quick and easy repair.

Due to the nature of the Cambrian Rally I've given it a new page on the TVTR website called.....Cambrian Rally '08. The first part of the report is there. Probably be in 3 parts.

Wooohooo. Great reading so far Andy, it's almost as though I was there!. Re the water filter, didn't you hear the Warden chap say that it became blocked with all the rubbish from the stream so he'd removed it. Good job we had one of South West Waters finest with us. He was able to reassure me with,' it'll be alright, the worst we can probably get is chrypto something or other and that'll only give us the violent s***s for a few days.' Just what I wanted to hear with about 200 miles of hard riding in front of me.
Would love to be out Bob, but am going upto Hull tomorrow and fetching my mum back to Plymouth for Halloween so the only thing I will be riding this weekend is pillion on the back off her broomstick if I don't behave, plus have the girls staying over all weekend to see "Nanny"
Which will be more exhausting than doing the weston back to back with the Ertzberg, just ask "uncle Sonny" but if anyone feels like getting their face painted or playing horsey, call by anytime
The are some new photos of us on the Cambrian Rally. Visit the Cambrian Rally page on our website and scroll down to the bottom of the page where I've put a link to the photos by Roy Bevis.
