Saturday 20th Sept '08 - Okehampton for lunch

I'll be leading a relaxed ride where quality will be the watchword next Saturday. The route will be starting in Ivybridge at 09.30 but picking stragglers up at Roborough Roundabout at 10am.

Please respond and say where you'd like to start. The start from Ivybridge will be doing the first south to north traverse of 136.

Lunch will be at the Mole Avon Farmers Shop and garage forecourt (very nice hot cheese and onion pasties).

Hi, got the Husky back together and was wondering if it would be okay to join you tomorrow for the ride to Okehampton. I live in Plympton so it is same distance to meet at Roborough or Ivybridge. As yet not familiar with lane numbers so would need an address or post code to start in Ivybridge. Looking forward to the ride.

Well done Billy, it'll be great to ride with you. Congrats on getting the Husky fixed so quickly too.Don't worry, odds- on that Fixer will be on the Forum before the evenings out and will put a 'here' for his address.Just in case I lose the gamble I've sent you a Personal Message. Bob

Hi Billy

I reckon for your first ride with us you'd be better off starting at Roborough. The lane I'm riding isn't for the faint hearted.

See you all tomorrow

Thanks for the 1/2 day I managed, got back without any further issues. Looking for a fan unit to avoid future repeat performance. Going to have a go at the carb tomorrow, really need to drop the idle speed and stop the hunting.

It was great to see you Adam. I really liked the bit where you laid down with your bike on top of you...but I couldn't get my camera out fast enough as I was wrestling with my bike at the time. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

The run report will have to wait until tonight as the sun's shinning and the Valkyrie needs polishing to take the Missus out.

After a fabulous day out on the Valkyrie cruising around Dartmoor I've finally finished the ride report. It's on the Ride Reports page believe it or not. biggrin

I've just enjoyed reading the ride report. It was so graphic I could almost imagine being there! Jeff and Ross cried off this ride because they were going to deal with horsey things...what were we doing?. Horses to the left of us, horses to the right. My gawd they were everywhere.
Anyway, thanks Fixer for  leading, which seems mostly seamless from behind you and to Adam for the very rare entertainment. I hope you get your bike sorted for the weekend Billy and that we see you then.
Bob
