Ride out this weekend??? (4th/5th Feb)

Hi everyone,

I'm free one of the days this weekend and looking to get out for some laughs. So if anyone doesnt mind taking a first timer out i'm ready willing and able(debatable!!!biggrin)

Also what does everyone wear to keep warm? i dont want to over dress and sweat my tits off but at the same time noone likes being cold!

I tend to wear many layers and if I get too hot I can take one or two off.

If its freezing then for me it would be vest, thermal base layer, body armour, moto-x jersey, overjacket (simple rain/wind one).

Bottom half either thermal trousers and moto-x trousers or a winter enduro trouser (a few of us get the wind/rainproof Spada trousers which are only around £50 - search under ebay for spada - we use the camo-type ones).

Now hands and feet are the places where cold sets in first. I swear by Alpinestar Chill winter gloves (one of the few that keep your mitts warm and still thin enough to feel your controls). Maybe double socks on your feet - possibly one pair being waterproof (like sealszinz) to reduce much chance of coldness.

Finally one of those buff-scarf things that go around your neck and can be pulled up over the head & side of face if required (this one has quite a dramatic effect when taking it off if you are feeling too warm).

Simples................

And unfortuantely I moved from Plymouth to Goodrington about 4 months ago, so  cant offer you a rideout.

Listen to wheely he knows his stuff , I bought the spada trousers , absolutely brilliant ! As for the top I wear a normal t shirt , body armour , old norweign top and a flashing mac and as of yet I have not got cold. For your hands the alpinestar chill gloves are brilliant !

Deffo recommend the sealskinz socks. £10 from Goulds (army surplus shop) on Ebrington Street. Well worth it especially this time of year as there are some deep puddles out there!!!

I've also got the Alpinestar Chill gloves and they do the job well.

Just spin a good web round yer self you will be alright, but keep those toes dry (keep out of the water) or you will feel the full force of winter.

There is nothing better than stalling in a puddle that is almost waist deep and feeling that flooding sensation lol ! And then having ya buddy ( so called ) laugh at you as you attempt to push it out whilst he stays nice and dry ! Cheers Danno , I'll keep that 1 for later lmao !
