sorry seem to have put this in for sale forum , and i dont have the skill to change it ,the bike is NOT for sale


My new toy has developed a problem , firstly i noticed the electric start stopped working all i get is the sound of a relay clicking when i push start button confuse also the brake lights have stopped working and the CDU is buzzing , and finally to added even more confusion the kill switch seems to have reversed itself ( i think , i say this because i cant remember if it was always like this) any suggestions would be very welcome before i take it to a professional biggrin

Sounds like an earth problem or a duff battery.
If you have a voltmeter check the voltage at the battery terminals (Not the screw heads), it should read 12.8v or more if fully charged. If less than 12.8 but more than 12.2 the battery needs a charge and then recheck. If less than 12v then its probably had it.

If you have 12.8v at the battery then, with the meter still connected, push the starter and see what voltage reading you get,
If it drops below 10.5v and is slow to recover then the battery has a faulty cell and should be replaced.
If it remains around 12.5v then you have a bad connection somewhere.
Check the battery terminals are clean and tight. Also check the earth connection of the negative battery lead to the frame, (remove it, check for signs of corrosion, it may only be slight, scrape the surfaces clean if necessary, refit and coat in petroleum jelly).
