The motocross practice track at Cadover is open this Wednesday 9th June from 1630 to 2030 hrs, costs £10. It is fairly flat with several jumps thrown in. There are some good riders there that will show you how it should be done.
People spotted previously. Knighrider, Grasshopper, Bonnie and Chris M.
Come along and have a go.
Knobbly tyre recommended.
If coming from Yelverton follow road over Cadover bridge and is approx 500 yds on the right (you can't miss it) as the field is directly off the road.
Hi Chris I was hoping to make it to tomorrow (June 23rd) evenings event but am van less due to selling mine and Liz being at the Welsh 2day. I was hoping to cadge a lift with Gary (Doh!) but he's joined me in the broken finger club as from today so wont be making it either. Hopefully we will make it to the next one in a couple of weeks. Cheers, Rob
It was a difficult track this evening, very dusty and loose earth making it easy to wash out. They had ran out of water to dampen it down making it difficult to see.
Suffered a puncture in the rear (oh er!), so crawled home as no tools to sort it out.
Good god its the most exhausting thing ever. Perspiration dripping from my chin after just a couple of circuits.
tell you what though- this nearly 52yearold got some good air on the jumps- yes- good air. I dont think I have left the floor before- bl**dy exciting Ill say.
Well worth taking a screwdriver to tweak your suspension- makes a massive difference-
Now have forearms like popeye and need a hot bath to relieve the aches and pains
Nice glass of beer helps too
Cheers Chris for suggesting it - will have another go next time
It is hard work but thoroughly rewarding, never fail to learn something new every time. There are some really good riders there who can make a bike do just about anything, fantastic to ride with and try to to learn from them.
Another flat on the rear, must be my rim lock as valve ripped out again. Have to get it changed.
