Just for a change I'm out on Saturday, probably my last ride until I come home from Oz in February, so, something a little bit different.
This ride is for 'Novices/ Newbies/ the shy, the 'what's this trail riding stuff all about' type people only. You do NOT have to be a TRF or TVTR member, but if you've already been on a TVTR led ride then, I'm sorry, but you do need to be a TRF member to come on this one.
There's room for 5 or 6 members of the above categories only for a steady tour round West Devon, maybe dipping into East Cornwall depending on the progress we make. I don't, obviously, know what the take- up is going to be, so it's strictly first- come, first included.
Have no fear, cast your trepidations behind you....it will not be fast, and you will be 'looked after' throughout.
I will be leading and the TEC will be one of the TVTR's '100 lane' veterans.
Please post your name on this thread if you would like to join us...but be warned,we're riding whatever the weather..with a 9.15 start at Belliver roundabout, Plymouth.
Should you wish to discuss it please PM me, text me, phone me, stop me in the street or otherwise get in touch. Alternatively, nab me at the meeting on Thursday night, at The Rock Inn, Yelverton.
Ha ha ha folks. Just to have a laugh we'll meet on the other side of the roundabout, on the road, so we get run over. But at least Wheely will be able to call the ambulance for us.( Only joking, usual place, beside Xfab's entrance please.)
'Ease myself back into it?'.. how very dare you?. Just because I've been chipping rust off my chain today!.
So, riders so far.
Bob (me) Karr1e( sorry, can't remember how to write it, but there's a 1 in there somewhere) Stuart Neil400EXC Rain Monkey
TBC's Silver Fox (brake caliper problem)
On stand- by
ChrisM Froggerbiker Meavy Mick Bonny Withybrook
If there's a good take- up Chris, how about splitting the group?. Bob.

Yep I'm more than happy to take a few off to do some more adventurous lanes if that is required. I am only out for the morning so we could possibly meet up at lunch and amalgamate the remains of the two groups.
In case anyone is wondering why RainMonkey has gone straight into the list of riders it is because I know he hasn't been out for at least 6 months..no favouritism, but I know the other TVTR members on standby do get out.
Mick and Bonny, are you happy to hang on until Thursday night?. I'll call the ride closed then, after any visitors/ guests etc. have had a good chance to see the post here on the Forum or to hear about it at the meeting.
If the take- up is good, and it's shaping up that way if the TBC's can make it, Chris M is happy that we split the group to begin with. We'll work something out, so make sure your bikes and kit are ready.
Please put me on the list... bones need a bit of a shake up!!!
(AND I'm not going to let SLICK pinch my "entertainer of the year" award... still chased that lop##ll squirrell further up the tree and stayed perfectly balanced on the bike... getting down was the difficult bit!!)
Unfortunately have to pass on this opportunity to chase "The Entertainer Award" Withy, you'll have to look after it this weekend ....
This ride would have been perfect for Anna but unfortunately we have planned to work on Saturday and I am going out for a rare yacht race on Sunday. Not even been on a boat since the Fastnet so chomping on the bit
Hi Bob, didn't have the time to get the bike up and running so will not make the ride out tomorrow. Have a good christmas and a great trip to Oz. All the best David
What an awesome day!! Our first TVTR rideout! Thank you so much to Bob for leading an excellent route and apologies and much thanks to Neil (TEC) and all those who helped prise my bike off me........!! Thank you so much to all of you for making us feel so welcome!! Stuart and Karrie

experience is something you get....right just after you needed it!!
Karrie, no- one reported anything like that regarding your riding, although I do remember seeing you on your back on one occasion, waving your legs in the air. I can't remember where now though. Tell us more!
Seriously though, it was a better flowing ride than I was expecting after Chris M had to drop out and we all went as one. Jeff's broken chain and that was about it I think, from memory, and we were all lucky that Stuart's chain broke before the ride started.
It was a pleasure to have both you and Stuart along with us, although as it was described as a newbie/ novice run perhaps it would be more accurate to say it was a more dubious pleasure to have all that other lot with us.
I hope it's whetted both your appetites and that you get on some more rides soon.
Bob
PS. Thanks Neil, at the back all day. Much appreciated.

The Lop#ell squirrell escaped again, despite mighty efforts to chase him up that tree again!!! But I think Slick will get him in the New Year!!!
I know why the Maristowe Game Warden did not want to ride near his guns... the scrunchy grinding gear changing noise some bikes make is very similar to the Orange tailed Pheasans distress call!!
another great ride out today bob well done jeff you can stop throwing that mud at me now lol i had a blast some new faces new lanes with good weather to boot have a good christmas to all and a great riding new year rob oh anyone seen any mud me and jef might have missed lol
Thanks Bob, that was a great ride out today, good company, good weather, plenty of mud thats what makes a great ride. (Karrie, no apologies necessary. I don't believe you're as inexperienced on the trails as you say Just keep your feet on the Pegs, Stand up, look up and you don,t need to look out for novice rides any more)
There can't be any mud left on those lanes now! Most of it has been washed down the drain outside my house. Thanks Rob it only took the best part of 2 hours to clean my bike!!!! NEVER MIND MY CHAIN BREAKING BOB, WHAT ABOUT MY NOSE??? No sympathy from you lot, I could have bled to death you know.
Sorry mate, I'll be gone. Haven't checked to see when I actually get there but I must be getting close by that date.
Sorry you couldn't make it last week, but we chugged along in one group and it was fine. Only slight hitch was Jeff's broken chain, but that didn't hold things up more than a few minutes.
Ok I will post a ride shortly. Mike I don't think I've got your phone number can you pm it to me please.
Adam - can't you borrow your Dad's bike for a few hours, that is if you don't get the KTM for christmas that is. It would be good to see you on the trails again?
