Heat Resistant Patch for my Pants!

After just buying myself a pair of new over the boot pants/trousers after my last ones burnt through, the same is happening again.

What I would like is some how attaching a heat resistant patch to where the trousers rub against my exhaust header pipe.

The above would be ideal but they don't seem to have a uk distributor.

I am no good at sewing, so any suggestions before these burn through.

Thanks

chris

Hi Chris,

didn't realise you wore hotpants- what next? a village people CD for christmas?

You could look at the problem the otherway and keep the heat away from your pants rather than making your pants heatproof. I know that Neil put a plate on his bike to stop the heat from the exhaust. DRC do a universal heat protector for header pipes 17.99 on fleabay.

I have some ally plate and might be able to make something to fit if it helps.

cheers

mike

Piece of thick leather, take them to a saddler or cobbler to get it sewn on.
