Just seen the bit in the news letter about this. Can anyone let me have some contact details as to where to get entries? If theres a gauntlet lying on the floor, I'm more than happy to pick it up. Reckon I could sort a team of 3 to come and kick your arses!!!!
Forgot to mention, the entries are open for the Moor to Sea Classic Trial, on 11th oct, starts and finishes in Newton Abbot. Go to www.westofenglandmc.co.uk
Ooohhh, strong words from one of Trelawney's finest in response to Timus's picking up the gauntlet.
Tim, I can guess a possible make- up of your team ( although I've never, unfortunately, ridden with one of them.....no names, no pack drill, mustn't give too much away) and I reckon that will leave a very good rider to attach himself, perhaps, to the Kev/ Gary team- if your compatriots are all available on the day.
So it seems like 3 teams are possibly sorted...
Known quantities so far, in no particular order
Jeff.....Double Centurion, C2C, plenty of stamina. Barney......C2C, won his class in his last trial, fearless. Pete.....Dark horse, below the radar. Stamina, reliable, takes pressure well.
Tim.....Centurion,C2C, various trials, laughs at adversity. ??....... C2C, Dry wit, skilful, various trials, loves the mud. ??....... C2C, buckets of stamina, loves Tango. ??....... An absolute unknown quantity (to me), but if he rides with these three he 'aint no duffer'
Kev.....Rides his bike to work, not on main roads,, fast, never seen him fall off, takes the tough line Gary... Equally fast and skilful. Will the bike be fixed?
I'll give this some thought ...maybe open a book?.
I have yet to recruit any other team members - I will try to round them up over the weekend at some point. I'm sure the usual suspects will be up for it.
Just for the record, wasnt Barney the only bike in his class last time?

No comp for tim that is! And it all sounded good till you let the cat out the bag Tim! Bugger. Was first in my class (I was the only one) Came third overall (but there were only 3 bikes at the trial, 2 in one class and me in the other!)

Tamar Trial Entry Form and Regs have come through via email tonight and are with Fixer at this very minute so's he can get them out to you when he gets a moment.
We're looking for teams with some sort of allegiance. So far we have
Cornwall TRF, represented by Jeff, Barney (but he's Devon TRF?) and Pete.
Tim's 'Suspect Team' represented by Tim and two suspects (Simon has expressed an interest)
The 'Rock' Boys.......Kev, Gary and Chris.
Fixer and Neil have both expressed an interest so........
Get your names down as singles or pairs and we'll see what teams we can make up!!!
The winners get 'Bragging Rights' until Christmas.
The Sea Mists are clearing ahead and me spyglass has a mild venture in centre view. Count me in! I reckon with a recent 2000 Km under me cutlass ought to be ready (Maybe?)
Ah Harrg - them's that dies are the lucky ones!

Me too. There doesnt seem to be any mention of team entries in the regs. Is the TVTR team challenge going to be an informal arrangement between gentlemen?
Wheres the Gentlemen? I thought we were all thugs!
Before anyone asks I am on the issue of enduro front tyres and will let you know in due course! (I was allowed to run an enduro front and trials rear in the last trial organised by Lanson & North Cornwall Motor Club as it was deemed to be of no advantage and poss a disadvantage by some).
Chris, Terry also has the 530. I expect he'll be on that. Oh dear, that's 'The Rock' boys at a disadvantage straight away- they are only used to ordinary, non- orange machines.
On a serious note, if you've signed up please post on the Forum as such. If we have several solo entrants and they wish to enter the 'Bragging Rights' competition, how's about putting the names in the hat, as it were, and drawing the teams that way?. Those who particularly want to ride with a mate, no probs, we could just draw a third name to join you. The teams already recruited will stay as they are, after all, who wants to interrupt the day that those nice Cornwall boys have planned?
Just a thought whilst out walking the dog. Would it be better if riders didn't sign up yet, just expressed their commitment here? Then, if you agree, the 'draw' could take place to complete the teams and the team riders' entries get posted together, thus ensuring they ride together during the event.
Feedback would be appreciated, even if you all want to do your own thing.

Chris, make contact as early as you can so that you can pop round and get the bike set up as you want it. I'm off to Africa as you know on the 2nd Oct and back on the 16th but have little time available from that point. You can run the bike whilst I'm in Africa no worries.

I think as long as the bike came out the factory with lights fitted on it, powered by the bikes own generator(stator or whatever they call it) you will be fine. Yours would be no problem.
As long as it has a valid MOT then there is no reason it cannot be on the road! Again yours will be Ok as it is too young to require an MOT.

If I had read the regs properly I would have read that trials and trail tyres are allowed!
Has anyone who entered heard anything yet? I was a bit slow getting my entry off, but I think it got there in time. Havent heard anything back from them so far, and its only next week end.
Of course that'll be ok. I look forward to it. I hope you do get an entry, Bob Slatter, the Trial Secretary, told me they're always undersubscribed. Bob.
Good luck to our seven entrants (that I know about). In no particular order.....
Cornwall TRF...Jeff, Barney, Pete
Devon TRF....Tim, Simon, Kev and Gary.
I'm holding back the newsletter for the results so that we can all bask in someone's glory and someone else's shame!. (Lying git, I haven't even started it yet).
Thank you for those kind words. Looking forward to it alot, despite the stupid o clock start for me and Simon tomorrow morning. Thank god for daylight saving - our 6am start is really 7!!!
Brian Sussex very kindly flogged me a second hand road book roller - i have just spent the last hour doing my finest blue peter with selotape and scissors joining all the pages together. Anyone who has read Charlie Bormans book about the Dakar might remember his nightmares with the road book roll - I can fully sympathise!! Getting the thing onto the rollers inside a small plastic box without tearing it is a skill I have yet to perfect. I'm still not convinced its going to last the day.
I'm sorry that I can't come and watch, somewhere difficult! Unfortunately I'm working ON Sunday but I'm more than happy to bask in the reflected glory when one of the TVTR's finest wins the trial!.
