525 exc electrics

Neil,

Trees are a wonderful thing, they pay for bikes when the weather is good. When bikes go wrong especially when its electrical I don't bode well in the repair department, orig prob not charging so got a new rectifier (connector plug full of crap and water) and it was throwing out 14.3 to 14.6 volts (ideal), when reassembled I checked again and no more than 12.3v at well over tick over.
Got another new rectifier yesterday but no different. I guess there must be a break in the loom or stat coil breakdown. Now rained off for rest of today, so bar a bit of paperwork first I will shut myself away in the shed for a while and ponder the problem hmm with multimeter in hand. Will report back later. Thanks Barney.
