Hi all, Sorry for the late posting but Fixer's been busy this week and I've been my normal dilatory self.
Fixer's house (Fixer's house) for 9.30 kick off on Saturday 21st, destination unknown, but it'll be a good one, there's lots of water, mud, rock and pasties waiting for us . Please post up if you're coming.
Bob - desperate to get my new cat fitted to my car. If I can get it sorted tomorrow afternoon then will join you. If not will need to get it sorted Saturday.
So hope to be with you (cuz I'm always on time or absent).
Sadly i won't be able to make this one , a very nice chap has agreed to buy my GSXR for the asking price which makes me a very happy fellow and will be collecting from me on saturday in Bristol.
Have a great ride,oh and Bob make sure your no plate is readable !!!
Wheely, just drive faster you will end up with a new cat on your car at some point! and Guy's its my turn to sit on the baby, errrrr teach it to sit or something like that! Gem's turn to ride (a borrowed horse that is). Hope to be out before C2C midd march though. Laterz Barney.
Here i am at work and you lot are out enjoying yourselves. Its just not fair. I would like to say 'have a nice time' but it would be through gritted teeth, so i won't bother. I may go out on my own on Monday and think, ha, them lot are at work. Ah, That's made me feel so much better about being here. NOT!!!!!

FOR SALE - 2005 TTR250 with only 450 miles on the clock! Offers in the region of £2K. If interested, contact Olly Cooke on 07989337871 - Olly has the owners contact details.
Good day out - thanks to Andy and to everyone else. Well done to David - that was a tough day out for a less experienced rider on a superlight enduro 2 stroke with a worn knobbly!! Hope your ankle isnt too bad. How much do you think you might want for the KTM? I may know someone who wants it.
Glad you got home OK David. Ignore the TTR's as they are expensive to repair when they go wrong - sorry but that's true. Have a look at the CRF230 Honda Cap'n Paul reckons this is the best Trail bike out there and I agree. If I could borrow one I'd probably swap my CCM for it!

To be honest Phil I couldn't tell you exact facts and figures about the engine. The manual says 250 chassis has a minimal amount more suspension travel, so is slightly taller, but apart from that they are exactly the same. The 400 is about 10 kg heavier, although I've ridden a couple and they didnt feel that different to mine. The other main difference is the close ratio gearbox in the 250. Whereas mine whips up through the gears almost as quick as you can change them, the 400's seem to have longer lazier gearing - bigger gaps between the gears , so it hangs on to them for longer. To be fair mine is fairly low geared externally - flat out at 65 mph. I'd also say the 350 engine is probably a little more liveley than the 400 - mine definately feels a bit sharper than the 400, especially now Justin has properly sorted the carb conversion for the 350 kit. As far as horse power goes I couldnt say - I'd take a wild stab in the dark at 30 bhp.
Fixer, just seen your signature, good one. i think it ranks as a really apt TVTR (trail rider's) motto. Or did I miss something already, have you writ this in latin and got it included in the group's coat of arms? Sorry to have missed the day out.
From the report and pictures it looks like i missed a great ride ,especially 287 !! Well done David , keep at it , although a 4st with a magic button makes life easier , says me with a XR400 !!
