sat nav advice

As i,m of work today with a nasty sickness bug i thought i would have a look into getting a sat nav for the xr , could someone point me in the right direction of what i should be looking for, bearing in mind that i have no battery on the xr so i guess a system with a good battery runtime would be ideal.

cheers

Not everything is done on the forum. I got Simon to ring me and he's bought a second hand Quest for a good price on Ebay. Job done!

For on road touring I have a Garmin Zumo 550 - fantastic.

The smaller Garmin Dakota10 seems to be OK for off road stuff, the Dakota 20 is a little more sophisticated but it is also more expensive. They come with a handlebar fitment.

Its worth looking into the cost of mapping and what the units will accept. Most Garmins come with a World Base map which is good to get you to India on the main routes but non main roads in Cornwall, for example, do not show.

I only know about Garmins, others will have their preferences.
