Moor Meandering - 8th Nov '08

Ride report's on the website. Read it and weep if you weren't there as it was a great run. Thanks to Fred for supplying extra photos for the website. smilesmilesmile

Good day out had by all I think.
Was a bit sceptical about riding in such a big group, but it all seemed to work pretty well. Only a couple of minor scatterings when the systerm failed at junctions, but nothing too serious. And everyone riding to about the same standard and pace, so all good.
The last bit of my journey home was about as grim as it gets. Soaked through in less than 10 minutes! Went straight home on the road , would usually take in at least one more lane for the way home. Felt for poor Neil having to ride all the way to Saltash.

Great report and fantastic pictures and yes 191-089 did catch me out, to much rear brake and the back wheel was wanting to see what was in front of me !

A truly a great day out with you all, by far the most riders i have ridden with and seemed to run very smoothly apart from one or two junctions !

Very much looking forward to the next meet , i hopefully wont be as smokey from my rear end next time !

Within a few minutes of leaving Ashburton and up toward Landscove I was soaked to the skin and the wind was howling , the perfect time for it to happen i guess !

Until next time smilesmilesmile

Great report Andy, a fantastic ride around the moors. Most of the lanes were new to me so enjoyed it all the more.
Thanks for the thought Tim and yes it was a bit grim, absolutely soaked through and Dipped beam had failed.
Didn't put a dampener on the day though, has to be one of the best.
Good to meet you all.
Cheers,
Neil.

Just a bit late with my own addition of appreciation fixer for a great mix of lanes well strung together. But thankyou for the lead, I did not think there could be such a collection in quite a small area.

A pity I did not stop on several occasions to photograph because there were such great autumnal views and colours to be seen on such a superb day's weather, and I know you guys got very wet on the way back to Ivybridge and Saltash (my car was well warm and dry) but by contrast the sunday was just so wet and windy that we were very fortunate to get the sort of riding we did on the Saturday.

A comment on the group, its the first time that I have been part of such a large group of really competent riders this year, that made for great progress through all the lanes and were good company too. Outright speed is not the aim but press-on is the challenge. wink.gif
