Warning to all riding in the Duloe, Herodsfoot area Cornwall

The forestry commision have released the following article which should be of concern to all users of the area as it FAILS TO MENTION THERE ARE LEGAL ROUTES THROUGH THE FORESTS in particular the trevillis woods area!
I think this fact should be passed on to the police.

30 SEPTEMBER 2008 NEWS RELEASE No: 10992

Issued by the Forestry Commission and Devon and Cornwall Police

MOTORISTS WARNED TO KEEP CARS AND MOTOR BIKES OUT OF THE WOODS

Devon and Cornwall Police are working with The Forestry Commission to tackle illegal, dangerous and damaging motorists in woodland around Herodsfoot and Duloe and Two Waters Foot.

It is an offence for motorcyclists and other motor vehicles to drive on land the Forestry Commission manages on behalf of the public without permission.

As well as causing a nuisance to nearby residents, these drivers are causing significant damage. In addition, they pose a risk to other woodland users.

Police and Forestry Commission staff will be patrolling the woodland to keep a check of these persistent trespassers. The police have the power, after the issue of one warning, to seize vehicles that continue to drive illegally through the woods.

In addition, they are asking that other woodland users take the registration number of any vehicle they see driving in the woods and give this to the police on 08452 777444 quoting the reference number 186/260908.

Thanks Tom,
This is typical from the locals around there, the TROs were just the start, they are trying to prevent all legal Trail riding in this area by whatever means. Would be a good idea to post this on the Cornwall TRF and KTRC forums. We need a co-ordinated approach by ALL trail riders in this or we will lose these lanes for good.
I wrote to the local Tory candidate to see if I could get a response as she was looking for local support, of course had no reply. The Libdem MP and councillor for the area were supporting the TROs at the time.

Good reporting Tom.

Can't look into it much whilst I'm away but it must be worth printing out the Interactive map of the area showing the legal routes through the woods???

Thanks,
I cant take all the credit, adam strong mentioned it whilst chatting earlier so i looked it up online.
Adam Hedley has spoken to the police lady involved and given her grid refs of the legal routes.
I have made camel vale mcc aware as the wintery road trial is in a months time and usually takes in the affected areas.
