The Exeter Trial

For those that have expressed interest and for those that might be interested here is some information about the MCC Exeter trial.
It starts from The Little Chef Sourton Cross nr Okehampton at 1930 on Friday 9th January 2009.  Ride to Haynes Museum for stop and trial start at 0000.  Various hills through the night and ending up at Trecarm Hotel Torquay sometime after 1230.
It would be good to get a team or 2  together (3 in team) to do it but you can ride outside a team.  If you aren't a member of the MCC you have to join before 1/10/09.  Entries in before 19/10/09 for the trial
The cost is £25.00 to join the MCC.
£10 (I think)to join the AUC as a trials member
£52 for the Exeter trial
£12 for a team (split 3 ways) + petrol.  It's about 300 miles + getting to and from.
MCC web site is www.themotorcyclingclub.org.uk

Hi David, I'm very interested in joining you for the Exeter. As I said on Tuesday, so much depends on work, not whether I'll be working that weekend but whether I have any to pay for the event!. I'm currently a member of MCC and the ACU (with a Trials registration) but I thought they would both expire at the end of the year and I would have to renew both to compete. Is this right?. Bob

I'm up for it as well. It'll be nice to ride through the night behind a candle trying to mapread - NOT.

Can we discuss this at the next meeting as some of us may be alive after the Cambrian weirdface

Rain Monkey is now the Official Exeter Trial Co-ordination officer for the TVTR. biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Hi Bob,
You have to renew your membership with the MCC at the time of entering (before the 19th October) As to the ACU you have to quote your number on the entry form so I would think that could wait. Rqain Monkey /David

Candle, Candle. You should be so lucky.  When I was a lad all we had was a half dead glow worm.
Entries have to be in by 19th October which I think is before our next meeting and if you need to join the MCC that has to be done by 1st October.  Time is running out. Be positive believe that you will live!  Rain monkey/David

I haven't a glow worm but I do have some glow sticks, purchased especially for the Lands End, which I then didn't do.
