My new bike. KLX 450R. 10 months old. Just over 400 miles on the clock. My present to myself for having survived over 27 years in the Navy. (My liver may disagree!!)
It's being held together by dried on mud and cow****e at the moment. Felt like an archeologist chipping away at mud trying to find the air filter!! Must teach Phil how to clean and prep his bike before he goes away next time.
Oy Civvy, you should be proud of doing your bit for a member of the armed forces, now stop dripping and get cleaning Not long now before I start getting the blame for leading you astray, hope you are getting a load of excuses ready for your new boss and the bosslady
Close but no cigar Andy, it's now between 2nd Oct and 4th Oct. Hi bob things are slowly getting better here with every mile we travel west. Wonder if there is a ride out on the Sat.
Bloody part timers!! In my day we used to deploy for 3 years minimum. Bring back the "cat o 9" and lash some discipline into these sorry excuses for sailors.
Phil, I think it's the Teign 2 Tamar ride that weekend. That's not to say there won't be anything going on for the rest of us that weekend. I should have the 400 EXC by then so the more practice I get on that the better before The Cambrian.
400 exc blimey Bob that's a big jup up from a Serow. Lets have the juicy info then what year, mileage, colour extra's and so on. Sounds great, read a review recently (TBM) and they really rate them, never mind tail end charlie you'll be tail end flyer
You're right Phil, it will be a big jump up. Hopefully not too big, I've become very used to being able to plant both feet flat on the ground when necessary BUT at least I'll be able to stand up straight rather than adopting the crouching tiger method and it will be better in the deep ruts. I suffered in Wiltshire 'cos the pegs are low and when paddling in the ruts I felt like my knees were level with my shoulders. After 100 yards of that my hips were giving me gyp. I don't know if you know Terry but the KTM is one of his. 54 plate, Orange!! well there's a surprise! and 1800 miles.Bob
